What's The Best Way To Learn Japanese

The best way to learn Japanese or any other language is to be born into the culture. Obviously, that's impossible for most individuals who aren't Japanese. The next best way is total immersion in the language. There are language schools that will help you learn a language. When you sign up for such a school, you will speak, read, hear and think Japanese only. It is surprising how rapidly you can learn a new language when it is the only way you have to communicate with others.

If you want to study Japanese, take an audio-lingual course, preferably in Japan or in a heavily Japanese community. If possible, you should reside in a setting where you don't hear English at all. If you think about how a child learns the native language, it is by constant hearing and repetition of words, phrases, facial expressions and gestures. Adults can make use of the same techniques when learning a new language.
